Hourly invoice
For anyone who bills a single hourly rate: tutors, virtual assistants, bookkeepers, handymen and caregivers. The invoice doubles as a time log, so the client sees each session's date, times and hours, and the total is simply hours times your rate.

Hourly invoice: questions people ask
Why do I type hours instead of letting it calculate from times?
Start and end times are kept for the client's reference. Breaks and rounding rules vary, so you enter the billable hours yourself and the invoice totals them.
How do I convert minutes to decimal hours?
Divide minutes by 60. 15 minutes is 0.25, 20 minutes is 0.33, 45 minutes is 0.75.
Can I bill different rates on one invoice?
This template uses one rate. Use the consulting invoice when different people or tasks have different rates.
Should I round time?
Follow what you agreed with the client, for example to the nearest quarter hour, and apply it consistently.
