What it does
Rotate PDF, explained
Rotate PDF turns pages by 90°, 180° or 270° and saves that rotation into the file, so the pages open the right way in any viewer, printer or upload portal. Rotating in a PDF viewer only changes your view and is lost when you close it.
You can rotate the whole document, a range such as 3-7, only odd or even pages, or click single pages. That covers the usual cases: a landscape table in a portrait report, a scan fed in upside down, or a phone photo that came out sideways.
Rotation is stored as a page setting rather than by redrawing the page, so text stays selectable and searchable and image quality does not change. Annotations and form fields turn with their page.
Rotation happens in your browser. The file is not uploaded and the download is free without an account. For rotation combined with reordering or deleting pages, use Organize PDF.

Good to know before you start
- Rotation is in 90° steps only. A scan that is a few degrees crooked needs deskewing with Restore scanned PDF.
- If a PDF's text was drawn sideways inside an upright page, rotating the page turns the whole page, not just that text.
- Rotating a digitally signed PDF invalidates the signature.
If something goes wrong
If something goes wrong
- The page still looks sideways in my viewer
- Some viewers remember a manual rotation you applied earlier. Reset the view rotation in the viewer, or open the file in another app to confirm.
- Printing comes out sideways after rotating
- Turn on your print dialog's “auto-rotate and center” or “fit” option so the printer follows each page's orientation.
Rotate PDF: questions people ask
Is the rotation permanent?
Yes. The new orientation is saved in the downloaded file, so it opens the same way everywhere. Your original file is not changed.
Does rotating reduce quality?
No. The page content is not re-rendered; only the page's rotation setting changes, so text and images stay exactly as they were.
Can I rotate only the landscape pages?
Yes. Choose “Landscape pages” to select every page that is wider than it is tall, then rotate them together.
Will my form fields and comments rotate too?
Yes. They belong to their page and turn with it, so fields stay aligned with the boxes they fill.
Can I rotate pages in several PDFs at once?
One file at a time here. If the files belong together, merge them first, then rotate the pages you need.
