What it does
Remove PDF pages, explained
To delete pages from a PDF, upload it, click the pages to remove (or type a range like 2, 5-7) and save. You get one shorter PDF containing every page you did not select, in the original order.

Before saving, PDFBetter shows the final page count and greys out the pages that will go, so you can catch a mistake such as removing page 17 instead of 71. Form fields, comments and links on the pages you keep stay as they were.
Remove pages and Extract pages are mirror images: remove deletes a selection and keeps the rest, extract keeps a selection and leaves the rest behind. Split produces several files instead of one. Pick whichever makes the selection shorter to type.
Deletion runs in your browser, so the file is not uploaded and the result downloads free without an account. Your original file is never modified.

Output
Good to know before you start
- Removing pages does not securely erase content elsewhere in the file. To remove sensitive text from pages you keep, use Redact PDF.
- Bookmarks and links that pointed to a removed page no longer have a target.
- You cannot remove every page; at least one page must remain.
If something goes wrong
If something goes wrong
- The file is not much smaller after deleting pages
- Images or fonts shared with the remaining pages stay in the file. Run Compress PDF to shrink it further.
- A form field I needed disappeared
- Fields that sat only on a removed page are removed with it. Open the original again and keep that page.
Remove PDF pages: questions people ask
Is deleting pages the same as extracting pages?
They are opposites. Remove pages keeps everything except your selection; Extract pages keeps only your selection. Both give you one PDF.
Do fillable fields on the remaining pages still work?
Yes. Fields on kept pages stay fillable with their current values; only fields that sat solely on removed pages are dropped.
Can I undo a deletion after downloading?
Your original file is untouched, so open it again. Nothing is changed until you save, and the download is a new file.
Can I delete pages from a scanned PDF?
Yes. Scanned pages are removed like any other. For duplex scans with blank backs, “even” selects every back side at once when all the backs are blank.
Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?
Unlock it first with Unlock PDF. You need the password to open it.
Does removing a page remove its content from the file completely?
The page and its content are dropped from the saved file. If you need to prove information is gone from pages you keep, use Redact PDF instead.
