What it does
AI document creator, explained
The AI document creator writes a first draft from your description, such as a simple service agreement, a cover letter, a meeting agenda or a rental inquiry, and opens it in the editor as a normal document you can change.

Good prompts name the parties, the purpose, key terms and the length: “A one-page dog-walking agreement between Sam Lee and the Ortiz family, three walks a week, $20 per walk, either side can end it with 7 days' notice.” The draft is a starting point. Read every line, fix what doesn't fit, and add fillable or signature fields before sending it.
Each draft costs 5 AI credits. Your prompt is sent to OpenAI's API under OpenAI's API data-usage terms, which by default exclude API data from model training. Drafts are not legal advice and may not meet the rules where you live; for common agreements, the reviewed templates in the template library are a safer starting point.

Good to know before you start
- Drafts can contain mistakes, missing clauses or terms that aren't enforceable where you are; review everything before use.
- It writes from your prompt only and doesn't know your jurisdiction's specific requirements unless you state them.
- Long or highly technical documents need more editing than short, common ones.
If something goes wrong
If something goes wrong
- The draft is too generic
- Add specifics to the prompt: names, amounts, dates, locations and the clauses you want.
- It added terms I didn't ask for
- Delete them in the editor, or regenerate with “only include …” in the prompt.
AI document creator: questions people ask
Is the generated document legally valid?
That depends on its content and where it's used, not on how it was drafted. Review it, and have a lawyer check anything important. PDFBetter is not a law firm.
Can I edit the draft?
Yes. It opens in the editor like any PDF, where you can change text, add fields and sign.
How much does it cost?
5 AI credits per draft. The Free plan includes 20 credits a month.
Should I use a template instead?
For common documents like an NDA, invoice or lease, a reviewed template is a more predictable start. Use AI when nothing in the library fits.
Can it create a fillable form?
It drafts the document. Add fillable fields afterwards with the form builder, or let AI detect field locations with Create fillable PDF.
