What it does
AI signature preparation, explained
AI signature preparation reads an agreement, suggests signer roles such as Landlord and Tenant or Company and Contractor, and places signature, initial and date fields on the lines where each role needs to sign.

It saves the slowest part of sending a long agreement for signature: finding every signature block and initials line and dragging a field onto each. You review the proposal, move or delete fields, and assign real people with names and email addresses yourself.
It never sends anything. Recipients are not inferred from names in the text and contacted; you choose the recipients and press send in Request signatures. Each run costs 3 AI credits, the same as field detection. The document text is sent to OpenAI's API under OpenAI's API data-usage terms, which by default exclude API data from model training.

Good to know before you start
- Proposals can miss a signature line or place a field on the wrong one; review every page.
- Roles are suggestions; AI doesn't verify who should sign or whether someone is authorized to sign.
- Scanned agreements need OCR before AI can read them.
If something goes wrong
If something goes wrong
- A signature block has no field
- Add one with the signature field tool and assign it to the right role.
- Roles are wrong
- Rename or merge roles in the panel before assigning recipients.
AI signature preparation: questions people ask
Will AI send the document to signers?
No. It only proposes fields and roles. You enter recipients and send yourself.
How much does it cost?
3 AI credits per run. Sending signature requests is counted separately: 3 a month on Free, unlimited on Pro.
Can I edit the proposed fields?
Yes. Move, resize, delete or add fields before sending.
Does it work on scanned contracts?
After OCR. Without a text layer there are no signature lines for AI to read.
Does AI decide who must sign?
No. It suggests roles from the document's signature blocks. Who should sign is your decision.
