How to cancel a pdfFiller subscription
Reviewed

Short answer
On the web, click your profile icon in pdfFiller, go to My Account, open the Subscription & payment tab and click Cancel subscription. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, cancel in the App Store or Google Play instead; deleting the app doesn't cancel it. Download your documents first: pdfFiller says you keep access until the paid period ends, then have about a month to get your files.

Cancel on the pdfFiller website
These are the steps on pdfFiller's own cancellation FAQ, checked on 28 October 2026. The same FAQ shows offers to pause or adjust your plan before you go; you can skip them and continue. pdfFiller's blog says the flow ends with a few final prompts and a confirmation email, so keep that email.
If the button isn't there for your account (for example a team plan someone else pays for), pdfFiller's terms also allow cancelling by contacting support and receiving written confirmation.
- 1
Open My Account
Sign in at pdffiller.com, click your profile icon and choose My Account.
- 2
Go to Subscription & payment
Open the Subscription & payment tab. Note the date your current period ends.
- 3
Click Cancel subscription
Click Cancel subscription and follow the remaining prompts until pdfFiller confirms the cancellation. Save the confirmation email.
Cancel a subscription bought in the iPhone or iPad app
pdfFiller says subscriptions bought through an app store have to be cancelled in that store, not in your pdfFiller account, and that deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription. Refunds for App Store purchases also go through Apple, according to pdfFiller's refund policy.
Apple's own instructions add one detail for trials: cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
- 1
Open Settings
On the iPhone or iPad, open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- 2
Open Subscriptions
Tap Subscriptions, then pdfFiller.
- 3
Cancel
Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. On a Mac, the same list is in the App Store app under your name → Subscriptions.
Cancel a subscription bought on Google Play
The same rule applies on Android: cancel in Google Play. Google says uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription, and that you keep access for the time you have already paid for.
- 1
Open the Play Store
Open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile icon.
- 2
Find the subscription
Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, then pdfFiller.
- 3
Cancel
Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
If you pay with PayPal
pdfFiller lists PayPal among its payment methods. Cancel in pdfFiller first with the web steps above: that is what stops pdfFiller's renewal. pdfFiller's current help pages don't say whether removing the payment in PayPal alone also cancels the subscription, so treat that as unknown and do both.
PayPal's help lets you stop future charges from a merchant in your PayPal settings. It doesn't cancel anything on pdfFiller's side by itself, and it doesn't refund past payments.
- 1
Open PayPal settings
Sign in to PayPal and open Settings → Payments.
- 2
Find pdfFiller
Open Automatic payments (or Subscriptions and saved businesses) and select pdfFiller or airSlate.
- 3
Cancel the automatic payment
Choose Cancel and confirm. Keep PayPal's confirmation next to pdfFiller's.
Download your documents before you cancel
pdfFiller's cancellation FAQ says you keep access to your documents while the subscription is active and have one month after cancelling to download them before they become unavailable. Its refund policy puts it slightly differently: export before you cancel, and after cancelling you have 30 days to ask Support for your documents before they may be deleted permanently. Its terms warn that content you don't download in time may be deleted permanently. Either way, don't wait.
Deleting the account is a separate, final step: pdfFiller says all documents are deleted with no undo, and an account with an active subscription can't be deleted, so cancel first and delete only after you have your files.
- 1
Open My Docs
Go to the document list (My Docs) in pdfFiller.
- 2
Select documents
Select documents one by one or in bulk. pdfFiller's Save As also downloads the original, unedited file if you need it.
- 3
Download
Click Download and check the files open on your computer, including completed signed copies and their audit trails.
Move your documents to PDFBetter
PDFBetter's uploader takes several PDFs at once and also accepts Word, Excel, PowerPoint and image files, which it turns into PDFs. If your files are in Google Drive, connect it under Settings → Integrations and import up to 20 files at a time. Standard fillable fields in a downloaded PDF stay fillable; pdfFiller-only settings such as recipient roles, conditional rules and saved templates need to be rebuilt. Keep finished signed documents and their audit trails as they are rather than re-signing them.
PDFBetter's Free plan has no end date and needs no card: 3 edited-document downloads, 3 signature requests and 20 AI credits a month. If you want a paid plan, code SWITCH takes 30% off the first year of any yearly plan.

Questions people ask
Does deleting the pdfFiller app cancel my subscription?
No. pdfFiller and Apple both say deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription, and Google says the same for Google Play. Cancel in the store's subscription settings.
Do I get a refund when I cancel pdfFiller?
Not automatically. pdfFiller's refund policy says no refund is issued when you cancel; access continues until the end of the paid or trial period. Refunds are a separate request with their own rules (first-time self-service users, within 180 days of the first payment).
What happens to my documents after I cancel?
pdfFiller's FAQ says you have one month after cancelling to download your files before they become unavailable; its refund policy gives 30 days to ask Support for them. Download everything before you cancel to be safe.
Can I just delete my pdfFiller account instead?
Only after cancelling: pdfFiller says an account with an active subscription can't be deleted. Deleting removes all documents permanently, with no undo.
I cancelled the payment in PayPal. Is pdfFiller cancelled too?
pdfFiller's current help pages don't say. Check that My Account → Subscription & payment shows the subscription as cancelled, and contact pdfFiller support for written confirmation if it doesn't.
How do I avoid being charged when a pdfFiller trial ends?
Cancel with the same steps before the end date your account shows, or at least 24 hours before it ends for an App Store trial. The free-trial guide covers the details.
