Recurring service invoice: questions people ask
Why include the previous balance?
It turns the invoice into a short statement, so a customer who missed a payment sees the full amount owed instead of only this period's charges.
Can I send the same invoice every month?
Save it as your own template, then update the period, invoice number and account summary each time. Fill PDF from Excel can generate a batch for many customers.
Should I bill in advance or in arrears?
Either works if it matches your agreement. State the service period clearly so the customer knows which dates are covered.
Does autopay mean I don't need to send an invoice?
Many customers still want an invoice for their records and taxes. Mark autopay so they know not to pay twice.
