Safety inspection checklist: questions people ask
Does this checklist cover OSHA compliance?
No checklist can. It covers common general-industry hazards. Your industry may have specific OSHA standards; use this as a starting point and add items.
How often should we inspect?
Many small workplaces inspect monthly, plus after any incident or change to equipment or layout. Some items, such as fire extinguishers, need monthly checks under fire codes.
Can I add items for my workplace?
Yes. Open the template in the editor and add radio buttons or text fields, then save it as your own template.
What should happen to a failed item that can't be fixed quickly?
Control the hazard in the meantime, for example by tagging out equipment or blocking an area, and record the interim measure in the log.
