What it does
Fax PDF, explained
Fax PDF sends your document from the editor to a fax machine, without a phone line or fax machine of your own. The fax contains the document as you see it, with field values and signatures included.

Faxing is still required by many medical offices, pharmacies, insurers, courts and government agencies. Fill and sign the form in PDFBetter, check it, and send it from the same place.
Destinations are limited to the US and Canada. Each sent page counts as one fax page. The Business plan includes 50 fax pages a month; on other plans, buy a fax pages pack (50 pages for $6, valid for US and Canada, never expires). Faxing goes through an external fax provider; if it isn't configured for your workspace, the fax option says so instead of pretending to send.
After sending, the document's delivery status shows queued, sent, delivered or failed. A failed fax shows the reason the provider reports, such as a busy line or no answer. To send by email or link instead, use Share PDF.

Fax PDF: questions people ask
How are fax pages counted?
Each page of the sent document is one fax page. A 5-page document uses 5 pages.
Can I fax internationally?
No. Destinations are limited to the US and Canada.
Do I need a fax machine or phone line?
No. The fax is sent through PDFBetter's fax provider from your browser.
Do fax pack pages expire?
No. Pages from a fax pages pack never expire. The Business plan's 50 monthly pages renew each month.
Will I get a confirmation?
The delivery status shows when the provider confirms the fax was received, or why it failed.
Can I fax a document with signature fields left blank?
Yes, the fax shows the document as it is. Make sure required fields are filled first; fax recipients can't type into fields.
