How to make a quiz from a PDF
Reviewed

Short answer
To make a quiz from a PDF, upload it to an AI quiz generator, optionally name the chapters or topics to cover, and generate multiple-choice questions. Then check each answer against the document. PDFBetter's PDF to quiz writes questions with three to five options, rotates the correct answer's position, and attaches a quote from the cited page to every correct answer, dropping any question it can't verify. A quiz costs 2 AI credits.

Get questions worth asking
Questions are about facts stated in the documents: numbers, dates, obligations, definitions and findings. Focus on the parts people get wrong in practice — limits, deadlines, exceptions — rather than the whole document.
A quiz tests recall of what the documents say, not whether they are right. If a policy is out of date, the quiz will be too.
Limits
Questions are multiple choice only — no flashcards, open questions or true/false — and there's no export to a learning platform. Scanned PDFs need OCR first. Document text is sent to OpenAI's API, whose API data-usage terms by default exclude API data from model training.

Questions people ask
Can I share the quiz with my team?
Not as a quiz link. Quizzes are saved in your workspace; workspaces can't be shared with team members yet.
Why did I get fewer questions than I asked for?
Questions whose quote couldn't be found on the cited page are removed. Add more material or widen the focus.
Can it make flashcards?
No. Each question with its answer and explanation can serve as a study card, but there's no flashcard mode.
What does it cost?
2 AI credits per quiz, whatever the number of questions. The Free plan includes 20 AI credits a month.
