What it does
Rearrange PDF pages, explained
Rearrange pages is a focused tool for one job: changing page order. Drag a thumbnail to a new spot, select a range such as 12-15 and move it in one go, or reverse the whole document. A numbered preview shows the final order before you save.

It is the quickest fix for a scan fed in back to front, a report whose appendix belongs before the references, or slides exported in the wrong sequence. You can also type a new order directly, for example 1, 5-8, 2-4, 9-.
Rearrange does nothing else, which keeps the view uncluttered on long documents. If you also need to rotate, delete or insert pages, Organize PDF has all of those controls in the same kind of view.
Reordering runs in your browser; the file is not uploaded and the download is free without an account.
How to do it
Rearrange PDF pages in 4 steps
1Pages out of order
2Move, rotate, remove
3Pages in order
- 1
Upload the PDF
Thumbnails appear numbered in the current order.
- 2
Move pages
Drag single pages, or Shift-click a range and drag it as a block. You can also type an order like 1, 5-8, 2-4, 9-.
- 3
Check the final order
The preview shows new positions alongside original page numbers so you can spot a misplaced page.
- 4
Save
Download the reordered PDF.
Example
Before and after
A 10-page scan made on a single-sided feeder: fronts as pages 1–5, then backs in reverse as pages 6–10.
“Collate duplex scans” produces 1, 10, 2, 9, 3, 8, 4, 7, 5, 6, so the pages read front, back, front, back.
Settings & formats
What you can control
- Drag and drop
- Move one page or a selected block; drop markers show the exact landing position.
- Type an order
- Enter a full sequence using pages and ranges; pages left out are appended at the end so nothing is lost.
- Reverse order
- Flip the whole document, useful for scans fed face up.
- Collate duplex scans
- Interleave a fronts-then-backs scan (1, 3, 5 … then 6, 4, 2) into reading order in one click.

Good to know before you start
- Only order changes here. Rotation, deletion and insertion are in Organize PDF.
- Bookmarks keep pointing to the same pages, so a bookmark outline may be out of sequence after a large reorder.
- Duplex collation assumes the backs were scanned in reverse order; check the preview if your scanner works differently.
If something goes wrong
If something goes wrong
- Dragging is fiddly on a phone
- Use “Type an order” instead, or select a range and use the move-to-position control.
- A page vanished after I typed an order
- Pages left out of a typed order are added at the end, not removed. Scroll to the end of the preview.
Rearrange PDF pages: questions people ask
What is the difference between Rearrange and Organize?
Rearrange only changes page order, with range moves, typed orders and duplex collation. Organize combines reordering with rotating, deleting, duplicating and inserting pages.
Can I move several pages at once?
Yes. Shift-click to select a range, or Ctrl/Cmd-click separate pages, and drag them together. They keep their relative order.
Can I reorder pages across two PDFs?
Merge them first with Merge PDF, which also lets you reorder pages across files before generating the result.
Do links inside the PDF still work after reordering?
Internal links point to pages, not positions, so they still go to the same page content in its new position.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Reordering is done in your browser and the file stays on your device.
