What it does
PPTX to PDF, explained
PPTX to PDF converts a PowerPoint deck in the current .pptx format into a PDF, one page per slide, at the deck's slide size. Use it to send a deck to someone without PowerPoint, attach slides to a report, or keep a fixed version of what was presented.

To be clear: this runs the same LibreOffice conversion as PPT to PDF. The page exists because .pptx decks use features the older format did not have, and those are where conversions usually go wrong: embedded fonts, SmartArt, equations, linked or embedded video, and speaker notes. The limitations and troubleshooting below are about those features.
Fonts matter most. PowerPoint can embed fonts in a .pptx (File > Options > Save > Embed fonts in the file); embedded fonts are used when their license allows it. Otherwise a font we do not have is replaced with one of similar width, which can push text out of its box on tight slides. SmartArt and charts are drawn from the picture PowerPoint stores with them, so they normally match what you saw.
Animations are flattened to each slide's final state, and speaker notes are not included. Without an account you can run 2 conversions; the Free plan includes 10 a month.

Good to know before you start
- Speaker notes are not included; the PDF contains slides only.
- Video and audio do not play in a PDF. A still frame or placeholder appears where the media was.
- Fonts that are neither embedded nor available on our servers are substituted. Some embedded fonts are marked by their license as not embeddable for conversion and are substituted too.
- Newer PowerPoint features such as Morph transitions, Zoom slides and 3D models appear as static content or may be simplified.
- Decks saved with an open password cannot be converted.
If something goes wrong
If something goes wrong
- Text spills out of shapes on some slides
- A font was substituted. Embed fonts in PowerPoint and convert again, or switch those slides to a common font.
- A SmartArt graphic looks different
- The deck may not contain an up-to-date picture of the SmartArt. Click the graphic in PowerPoint, nudge and undo, save, and convert again.
- Equations look wrong or are missing
- Some equation layouts do not convert cleanly. In PowerPoint, right-click the equation, copy it as a picture, paste it over the original, and convert again.
PPTX to PDF: questions people ask
Is PPTX to PDF different from PPT to PDF?
The engine is the same. This page focuses on features of the newer .pptx format, such as embedded fonts, SmartArt and video, and how they convert.
Can I include speaker notes?
Not in this conversion. Use PowerPoint's “Notes Pages” print layout and save as PDF if you need them.
Will embedded fonts be used?
Yes, when the font's license allows it. Otherwise a similar font is used, which can change text wrapping.
What happens to animations?
Each slide is shown in its final state with all animated items visible, since a PDF page cannot animate.
Are hyperlinks kept?
Yes. Links to websites stay clickable in the PDF.
Do I need an account?
You can run 2 conversions without an account. The Free plan includes 10 conversions a month.
