Photo and Video Release Form: questions people ask

Do I need a release for every photo?

Commercial use of a recognizable person, such as advertising, generally requires consent under state right-of-publicity laws. News and editorial use often does not, but releases avoid disputes.

Can a release be revoked?

This form lets the subject ask that future new uses stop, while existing printed materials and published posts may remain. State law may give additional rights.

Do minors need a parent's signature?

Yes. Minors generally cannot give binding consent, so a parent or legal guardian signs.

Can people sign on a tablet at an event?

Yes. E-signatures are generally valid for releases. Publish the form with the form builder or open it in Fill PDF on a tablet.
