Travel expense report
For business trips and conferences. Instead of one line per receipt, it organizes costs by day and type, which is how travel policies set limits (a nightly lodging cap or a daily meal allowance) and how approvers check them.

Travel expense report: questions people ask
What is a per diem?
A fixed daily allowance for meals and incidentals instead of actual receipts. If your employer uses one, enter the per diem amount in Meals for each day.
Where do I put airfare booked before the trip?
Put it on the departure day. If the company paid it directly, leave it off or note it, so it is not reimbursed twice.
Are personal days on a business trip reimbursable?
Usually not. List only business days and costs. Ask your travel policy about mixed trips.
What goes in Other?
Conference registration, baggage fees, Wi-Fi, tips not included in meals, and similar trip costs.
