PDFBetter vs signNow

signNow vs PDFBetter: per-seat prices, invite limits, bulk invites, payments and PDF editing compared, with sources. See which signing tool fits your volume.

Reviewed

Our verdict

signNow, part of airSlate and the signing engine inside pdfFiller Premium, offers low annual per-seat prices, bulk invites and payment requests on its mid tier, and per-invite site licenses. Its plans count invites, while PDFBetter Pro does not cap signature requests and includes a full PDF editor. Teams sending moderate volumes on annual contracts can do well with signNow; individuals who want month-to-month billing, editing and forms in one tool fit PDFBetter.

Pricing and invite limits

signNow lists Business at $20 per user a month, or $8 billed annually; Business Premium at $30 or $15; and Enterprise at $50 or $30. Annual plans include 100 invites per user per year and monthly plans 10 per user per month; extra invites cost from $0.96 to $3.60 depending on the plan. A Site License is priced at $1.50 per invite. The trial lasts 7 days with no credit card.

PDFBetter's browser tools (merge, split, rotate, images to PDF and similar) run on your device and download free without an account. Downloading a document you edited in the editor needs a free account; the Free plan includes 3 such downloads a month with no watermark, plus 3 signature requests, 1 live form with 50 responses, 20 OCR pages and 20 AI credits. Pro costs $15 a month, or $10 a month billed yearly, and a $6 Day Pass gives 24 hours of Pro without a subscription.

signNow's annual Business price is lower than PDFBetter Pro billed yearly, so for a light sender on an annual contract it can be the cheaper option. The invite allowance is the trade-off.

Signing features

signNow's mid tier, Business Premium, adds bulk invites, signing links and payment requests; Enterprise adds SMS, phone and password authentication. signNow also lists features such as conditional fields, approval workflows and notarization in its plan builder, but we could not confirm which plans include each.

PDFBetter includes signing order, reminders, expiry, a completion certificate and emailed one-time codes for signers on every plan, signer access codes on Pro, and bulk send and branding on Business. Every signer signs with their own cryptographic key. Every completed PDF is digitally sealed and independently time-stamped, with the evidence built into the file. Signers are identified by email (and an optional emailed code); PDFBetter does not attach payments to signing requests or offer SMS or phone authentication.

PDF tools and the pdfFiller connection

signNow is an airSlate product, and pdfFiller's Premium plan includes a signNow plan for sending documents. signNow's feature pages advertise OCR and PDF-to-Word conversion; we did not verify whether existing text can be edited.

PDFBetter keeps editing, OCR, redaction, conversion, forms and signing in one product and one plan, so there is no second account for the signing step.
